You can contact me via the contact form or by email at info@valatattoo.com to tell me your idea.
I will ask you for some useful information, such as the position of the body where you would like to get tattooed, or the size (in spans) of the project; I will be more than happy to advise you on all aspects relating to your new tattoo!
To start with the project, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit of €50 (that will be deducted from the final price), via Paypal, bank transfer or cash; this is to partially cover the management costs and the time spent creating a tailor-made design.
If you need to reschedule your appointment, please inform me at least 5 days in advance. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.
However, I kindly ask you to inform me as soon as possible in case you have any doubts regarding the feasibility/design!
I'm sure we will find a solution and create something unique for you <3
If you don’t have a specific tattoo idea, you can check the available projects to book a ready-made design, or just to get some inspiration!
✻ Make sure you drink plenty of water the day before your tattoo. Well-hydrated skin is more elastic and can make the tattooing process easier.
✻ Try to sleep adequately the night before your new tattoo, so you can better face the day ahead.
✻ Avoid excessive consumption of alcohol and caffeine the day before the tattoo. These substances can affect blood circulation and skin sensitivity.
✻ Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun or tanning lamps. Tanned skin may be more sensitive and may affect the accuracy of the tattoo. Always protect your skin with sunscreen.
✻ Eat a hearty breakfast and/or consider bringing some snacks (and water) with you for breaks, so you have the energy needed to tackle the tattoo.
✻ Wear comfortable, light clothing.
In the studio you will have to fill out the informed consent, which is a document that you will sign and which will certify that you are in good health and that you are fully aware of what you are about to face.
✻ Keep the film on for about 3 hours (if you know you will be out and about more than 3 hours after the tattoo, keep the film on until you get home).
✻ After 3 hours, remove the film and wash the tattooed area with neutral liquid soap (do not use shower gel, as it is too aggressive, or bar soap, on which bacteria could accumulate).
✻ Gently massage the area until all the dirt is removed (i.e. the excess ink, which should be a soft film), and rinse with lukewarm water.
✻ Dry the tattoo with a paper towel (paper tissue or paper towel), taking care to dab the area and not rub it. Never dry your tattoo with a towel: it is generally full of bacteria!
✻ Put a new, clean film back on. Repeat this process 2/3 times, until you go to sleep.
The procedure remains the same, so wash the tattoo 3/4 times during the day, taking care to put on a new film after each wash.
Before going to sleep, wash the tattoo one last time and DO NOT put the film back on. Now the tattoo must air out and start the healing process.
Once quitting with film, you can start putting a light layer of cream on the tattoo after each wash/dry. Choose a natural shea butter (easily available in every supermarket), or a specific cream for tattoo care.
Do not use unsuitable creams (such as Fissan, Nivea, etc.), as they will not allow the tattoo to breathe and will slow down the healing process.
Always apply the cream after washing and drying the tattoo.
Repeat the process for a week.
Once the film has been removed, make sure you put soft, comfortable and clean fabrics, preferably cotton, in contact with the tattoo; avoid synthetic, woolen or lint-free fabrics.
Sleep on clean, soft sheets.
If the tattoo is on the legs, avoid wearing tights/leggings/jeans or tight trousers for the first 3/4 days.
If you have a pet at home, be careful to avoid getting too close to it (I know it's tough!), as its hair/saliva could get on the tattoo and cause an infection.
In general, try to always keep the tattoo clean, especially in the first 48 hours after the execution, to avoid the onset of infections.
In the first 48 hours after getting the tattoo, it is normal for the area to be red, swollen and painful. However, if these symptoms persist and if in the following days, rather than subsiding, they increase, we are probably dealing with an infection.
DON'T PANIC! Contact me and we will evaluate what to do together. At worst, we might have to refix the tattoo once completely healed.
After 4 or 5 days from the execution, cuticles will begin to form, a sign that the tattoo is drying up and healing properly.
Don't peel or scratch your hangnails, or you might rub the color off the tattoo! If the area feels itchy, apply a thin layer of cream (and grit your teeth!).
During the healing period avoid:
- - Swim in the lake/sea/pool
- - Do saunas
- - Practice any sport (including going to the gym), at least for 2 weeks
- - Sunbathe
Once completely healed, apply protection 50+ on the tattoo every time you have to sunbathe; this advice is valid for life, to keep the tattoo more beautiful and healthy!
See you soon <3
